WHITE CANNELLINI BEANS WITH GARLIC AND SAGE

This is a favourite of mine, quick and simple to make and VERY tasty


INGREDIENTS

  • Punchy extra virgin olive oil (such as Suerta Alta - on sale here)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 5 sage leaves
  • 400g cannellini beans


METHOD

1. Pour a good dollop of extra virgin olive oil into a frying pan.

2. Add the garlic and sage leaves.

3. Add in the white cannellini beans and a little of the water.

4. Keep stirring until the beans are creamy – about 10/15 minutes.

5. Spread on sourdough bread and drizzle extra virgin olive oil over it – the more pungent the better! (Peppery extra virgin olive oi matches well with beans).
